Monday Musings - Megaformer, Movement & Motivation

ree

Lately I’ve been craving something more. A deeper connection to movement, a fresh spark in my business, and a shift in how I show up for myself. This week reminded me that inspiration often comes from trying something new and letting yourself be the student again.

Here’s what has been on my mind.

Falling Back in Love With My Movement

I tried my first Lagree class this week and I am obsessed. It reignited something I did not realise had dimmed. I have been feeling a bit flat with reformer Pilates recently. Not because I do not love it, but I think I just got comfortable. The routine felt a little stale and I was going through the motions.

Then came the Megaformer. And it lit me up.

Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout done on a machine called the Megaformer. It looks similar to a Pilates reformer, but the vibe is very different. The movements are slow and controlled, but they burn like nothing else. It is a blend of strength training, endurance, cardio, balance, and flexibility. You move slowly, hold deep positions, and stay in the work long enough to truly fatigue the muscles.

Where traditional reformer Pilates can feel flowing and graceful, Lagree is gritty. Think shaky legs, full-body tension, and that delicious soreness the next day. It is brutal in the best way.

Now I am seriously considering becoming a Lagree instructor. That fire has been reignited.

Expanding My Vision

Trying something new physically has also inspired me creatively. I follow this amazing creator on TikTok who has built her own brand from scratch. Watching her turn creativity into structure and passion into income has left me buzzing with ideas.

It made me reflect on my own path. I want to do more. I want to build something bigger than myself. Something sustainable. Something that allows me to be creative and connected, but not constantly burnt out doing all the work myself.

The next chapter might be a bold one. I do not know exactly how yet, but I feel the pull to grow.

Showing Up For Myself Again

Since moving back to London, my own workouts have taken a back seat. I would join in during classes I was teaching or squeeze something in here and there, but I have missed the structure of being a student. I have missed going to classes where I am not the instructor.

Recently, I started adding yoga back into my routine to help me unwind and reconnect. I also found this amazing female-owned Hyrox gym and wow, I left sore in the best way. There is something so satisfying about being pushed past your comfort zone.

Anyone else love leaving a class feeling like you have just been hit by a truck but somehow want to go back for more? That slightly unhinged feeling of yes, this is what my body needed.

Final Thoughts

This week reminded me of the power of switching things up. Whether it is trying a new workout, finding inspiration in someone else’s journey, or carving out time to show up just for yourself, sometimes the smallest shift can create the biggest spark.

I do not have it all figured out, but I am excited to explore what is next. More creativity. More movement. More alignment.

Here’s to being curious again.
